removed propane from fireplace, want to use as a wood burning fireplace now.?

I had a propane line into my fireplace that I had taken out. I would like to use it as a wood-burning fireplace now, do I have to do anything to the chimney, such as remove any insert etc. before I can burn wood in it.

A wood burning fireplace requires a damper, a smoke chamber, a smoke shelf, and a flue sized big enough to handle the size of the firebox. The steel fireboxes used for gas log fireplaces are not thick enough to withstand the heat of a wood fire.Gas fireplaces are totally different. Call a fireplace shop in your area and get some professional advice.
Just from my own experience, I’m gonna say you will not be able to do this.
