glass doors for fireplace

How do you clean soot from fireplace doors?
It is a woodburning fireplace that soots up daily. I am using Windex, but it is an awful job. Does anyone know of a product that would work better or something to coat the glass with to facilitate cleaning? Thanks.
Be sure the firebox is completely extinguished and cooled.
1) Lay newspaper down to catch any dripping soot.
2) Mix up 1 part water and 1 part rubbing alcohol (70% or more).
3) Spray on and wipe with paper towel.
4) Spay again and this time scrub with a ”Scotchbrite” sponge. (Scotchbrite is plastic and won’t scratch the glass like steel wool can.)
5) Finish with a few more shots and the paper towel and yuo should be good to go!
