Regular maintenance of gas fireplace?

I have a DS-36R Superior gas fireplace in the house he just rented a couple of weeks ago, did not know the age or date Installation. The blower (assuming there is one at that) is never on and the front glass is clouded. Can anyone point me to a website / Reference manufacturer's user manual or sharing of experience? I would like to clean the outside glass and troubleshooting the fan.

you can clean the glass with oven cleaner, leaving her in a while and wash with soap water.assume the unit is as old as the house is, unless remodeled.also might not have connected the fan to electricity. may have to run to it.use a vacuum to suck dust from the unit
