How to install a glass fireplace door?

We currently have a fireplace manufacturing. On the front of the fireplace that has a metal screen network that pulls from both sides to close it. This screen is attached by links to a round metal rod that runs through the external opening of the chimney top. We want to install a glass door fireplace – 1 – How to remove that bar? 2 – How do you get the correct measurement of the new fireplace glass door? 3 – How to install the fireplace door? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I had made a similar announcement but instead of a door, there was a solid piece glass between the screen (like you'd described) and glass. Ours was a Heatilator and its units, you can read the model number behind the access panel on the bottom of the unit. Based on the model number, which had a 2-door panels that I ordered. It came with detailed instructions on installation. Depending in your unit, you may have the same supplier, if not maybe you can get the model number and then find the door.
